1) Report the claim to the insurer and PCMI as soon as possible;
2) A claim form from the Insurer will be sent to you, which helps you to provide most of the necessary information as well as documents required for the processing of the claim;
3) For medical claims, original medical invoices will need to be submitted as well as a copy of discharge summary indicating the diagnosis of the injury/sickness and type of procedure performed;
4) Some Insurers may call for medical examinations by a Physician appointed by them and in the event of death of the Insured Person to have a post-mortem examination;
5) For loss, damage or theft of check in luggage — you will need to report the incident to the airline or carrier and submit a claim to them. Please also obtain a loss/damage Baggage Report from them for your records;
6) For loss, damage or theft of other baggage — you will need to report the loss, damage or theft to the local authority/police and retain the Police Report for your records and for submission to your Insurers.
